Ovarian Cancer Risk Is Reduced With The Pill

In a recent study researchers found that using the contraceptive pill reduces the risk of developing ovarian cancer.

The study was a large European one in which more than 300,000 women were followed . The women were taking the contraceptive pill containing estrogen and progestogen.

When compared with the women who took the pill for a year or less those who took it for 10 years had their risk for ovarian cancer reduced by almost one half.

Researchers caution against the risk of breast cancer which is greater among women using the pill. Read more on this study.
